Welcome to Qi Acupuncture Clinic

From the moment you arrive, we take the time to listen and begin each session with a warm, thoughtful conversation to truly understand what you are experiencing.

In our clinic, every treatment we provide is based on evidence-based practice. That means we do not just rely on tradition or opinion — we use the best available scientific research, combined with our clinical experience, your individual needs and preferences. This approach helps us ensure that every treatment we recommend is safe, effective and tailored specifically for you.

All treatments are built based on the diagnosis, generally using a combination of methods such as needling, cupping, moxibustion, acupressure, ear acupuncture, reflexology and electroacupuncture.

Our practice offers

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic system of healing that has been practiced for thousands of years. Rooted in the philosophy of balance and harmony, TCM views health as the result of a dynamic equilibrium between the body, mind and environment. Central to its approach are the concepts of Qi (vital energy), Yin and Yang (complementary forces), and the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water) which together explain how the body functions and how illness arises.

    How does acupuncture work?

Changes to the central nervous system during acupuncture sessions alter the regulation of blood pressure and flow as well as body temperature.

Acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system causing neurotransmitters and neurohormones to be released, thereby boosting your body's natural ability to heal itself.

Acupuncture reduces pain by releasing the endorphins, which naturally occur in the body's pain control system, into the central nervous system.

What does it mean when acupuncture hurts?

If a needle contacts a small nerve, muscle or blood vessel, you might feel brief pain or a stronger sensation. A single, momentary sensation is usually not a cause for concern. However, points on the extremities can lead to stronger reactions, such as dull aches or tingling.

Why do acupuncturists check your wrist?

In addition to asking questions, acupuncturists often take your pulse at multiple points on your wrist. They also assess the appearance of your tongue and may observe your skin colour, texture, posture and other physical characteristics for insights into your health.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments varies based on the condition, its severity and your overall health and age. Most patients begin to notice improvements after three to five sessions, though some may feel significant relief after just one. A typical treatment plan for a single complaint involves one or two sessions per week, usually totalling 6 to 8 sessions.

What should I avoid before acupuncture?

1- Caffeine such as tea, coffee, energy drinks and chocolate

    2- Alcohol

    3- Recreational drugs

    What is evidence-based practice ?

In simple terms: it’s about using what works, proven by research, while tailoring it to the person and situation.

Our treatments will be based on the latest scientific evidence for results and we will uphold the standards of medical practice.

Can babies and children receive acupuncture ?

Yes, children and even babies can receive acupuncture, but it requires special considerations.

    1. Acupuncture is generally considered safe for children and infants when performed by a licensed acupuncturist who is trained in pediatrics.

2.Techniques: For very young children and babies, acupuncturists often use non-needle methods such as acupressure, massage, or specialised tools to gently stimulate points instead of inserting needles.

    3. Needles used are very fine, and fewer points are typically used than in adults. They are about the size of a strand of hair. This is known as gentle needle techique.

4.Tolerance: Babies and toddlers may not tolerate needles well, so sessions are usually shorter and adapted to their comfort level.
